It is my pleasure to announce that current London High School Assistant Principal Mrs. Carla Shaw has been approved as the district’s new Director of Digital Learning and Innovation. In this new role, Mrs. Shaw will essentially function as the “principal” of the district’s hybrid and virtual schooling options. Unlike a traditional principal, however, Carla’s students will be fully integrated into our other district’s schools. In addition, she will be responsible for helping to develop and implement innovative programs and teaching practices. Mrs. Shaw joined London City Schools at the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year. She holds a Bachelors of Education degree in Physical Education from The Ohio State University and a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Western Governors University. The new position will be financed by federal ESSER II funds.
Likewise, it is also my pleasure to announce that current LHS Health and Physical Education teacher, Mr. Kyle Cutler, has been approved as the new London High School Assistant Principal during the Board of Education’s regular May meeting. Kyle will replace Mrs. Shaw, who was formerly approved as the district’s new Director of Digital Learning and Innovation during the same meeting. Mr. Cutler has been employed by London City Schools for the last seven years during which time he has served as a teacher, the district’s head football coach, and as an assistant athletic director. During his time at LCS, Kyle has demonstrated a proficiency for fostering relationships with students, which will serve him well in his new role. Mr. Cutler received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Teacher Education from Bowling Green State University, completed a post teacher certification in health education at Capital University, and received his Masters Degree in Educational Administration from Concordia University. Coach Cutler will continue to serve as the Head Coach of the Red Raider football team.
